Churches use all sorts of names for small groups — life groups, home groups, cell groups. At Wyong Baptist we call them Life Groups, and their purpose is to provide people an opportunity to engage in authentic biblical community that helps them become more like Jesus in every area of their lives. This is why we want everyone who sees Wyong Baptist as their church family to be part of a growth group. Today’s culture celebrates and promotes individualism over community, and privacy and seclusion are valued over connection. God has not designed us to live this way. He created us for relationship with Him and with others.
When a Life Group meets:
- Meaningful relationships take place: Authentic community with one another develops
- Bible truth is applied to everyday life: Life Groups offer a safe place to ask questions and discover the reality of living life as a follower of Jesus.
- Prayer is offered: As a group we bring our needs, the needs of our church and our world to God in prayer.
- Mutual care is experienced
There are many types of groups catering to different ages and life stages that meet throughout the week. If you want to join a group or just talk about the options available, please contact our Life Group Coordinator, Shannon Marshall.
