Safe church team

WBC values and is committed to creating safe spaces for all who participate in the life of our church – particularly children and those who are vulnerable. We have a Safe Church Team who are responsible for overseeing our Safe Church Policy and church’s commitment to creating safe spaces, as well as responding to any potential concerns or complaints. Our team comprises Bronte Cornwell,  David Bell and Pastor Brett Robinson (In photo order). You can contact our Safe Church Team via email at safechurch@wyongbaptist.org

We have been Approved by the Safe Church Health Check.

The SCHC is produced and administered by the Baptist Association of NSW and ACT. It assess how churches are fulfilling their requirements of the 10 Child Safe Standards. The 10 Child Safe Standards were born from the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

Safe Church Policy & Procedures

Our commitment to creating safe spaces for all involves adopting a Safe Church Policy, incorporating appropriate staff and volunteer screening and training, and having a Code of Conduct. The heart of this is to equip and uphold the various expectations that we all would have for our staff and volunteers. We have adopted a Safe Church Policy and Procedures from the NSW ACT Baptist Association which complies with the latest Government Legislation. The Policy document is available below, as well as selected procedural documents relating to the Procedure for Conflict Resolution, Procedure for Handling Complaints Against Staff and Volunteers, and Procedure for Responding to Child Protection Concerns.
